I'm Ryan Sull, a maker.

The lofty goal of ending world hunger in mind, I decided to pursue this line of research, attempting to create a product that would optimize growth conditions for mealworms so that humans can maximize their production as a food source.

Through research, I realized how mealworms were a nutritious and reliable future food source for humans. In a world full of poverty, mealworms would be the perfect substitute for meat. My visit to the Insect Lab inspired me to build a Smart Farm prototype, based on the specific traits of mealworms.

Many people are aware of the prominent issue of malnutrition in Kenya, or Africa in general. However, the problem has yet not been solved as malnutrition is still the key cause of suffering among almost 1.82 million children in Kenya. To effectively solve the problem, team chakula developed a drinkable product with multiple benefits for Kenyan citizens.
